Turnaround Arts
We are a Turnaround Arts School, with arts partnerships with PS Arts and renowned Ozomatli Band, employing schoolwide arts strategies, such as VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies) to promote student learning and success through the arts. Click on an image to find out more about our partnerships.
Turnaround Artist, Frank Gehry led 30 students at Ellen Ochoa Learning Center in designing their own city. Students worked in teams being led by an architect from Gehry Partners as they designed their own community building. The visit, culminated with students explaining their innovative designs, as well as the aspirations for their communities. Turnaround Arts California President, Melissa Shriver and California State Assembly Speaker, Anthony Rendon were also present. This partnership supports the vision of Ellen Ochoa educators to transform the community by providing a solid dual language education through integration of the arts and technology.
